Literally still in my car outside of this place after devouring my sandwich. WOW. I’m not generally a roast beef fan but I will for sure be coming back. RB with onion, melted provolone, mayo and 50/50 sauce on sweet soft roll. The size of the half sandwich for the price is generous. Won’t need to ever go back to beach hut that sells you a puny 3” for almost $10. The girl behind the counter was super helpful trying to help me decide on my first sandwich. Will definitely be coming back! To the dork that gave this place a 3 star because of their political beliefs

Also known as the rat trap. I had the rat trap sandwich today. Heated on the Dutch crunch roll and it was mighty good. It's an old building that's very unique, but it's got some pretty dog gone good sandwiches.

Amazing food, drinks, service. Historic building, adequate bathroom, limited parking. Very meaty sandwiches. Plenty of places to sit indoors and outdoors. Really a great place to relax and have an afternoon lunch. I love all of the old fruit crate labels and photographs inside. Really adds charm. Highly recommended

Delicious Food This time, we tried the weekly French dip sandwich, and it was absolutely loaded with tender beef and all the tasty fixings. So flavorful and satisfying! We paired it with a large order of their homemade macaroni salad, which was creamy, delicious, and perfectly chilled. Outstanding Service Shoutout to Chelsea, who was kind, attentive, and made our experience feel personal and relaxed. Over the years, the staff here has always been top-notch, and Chelsea carries on that tradition beautifully. Sweet Local Touch For dessert, we split a chocolate chip cookie from Chunks of Heaven Cafe and Bakery, and let me tell you—it lived up to the name! Soft, gooey, and made with love, it was the perfect sweet treat to finish off our meal. Newcastle Cheese Shop AKA The Rat Trap, to the locals, is a community favorite. It's one of our best kept secrets. Everything is fresh and delicious. I would recommend calling in your order, so you don't have to wait in the long line. Otherwise, arrive after 1 pm to have the place to yourself. As you stand in line, grab your drinks and chips. I would recommend having the cheese shop have order slips ready for the customers to fill out while they stand in line. On the barrel by the door would be an ideal spot.
